More than Cinetruss

First of all, thank you for your interest in Cinetruss.

This article is more than just an introduction to Cinetruss. It is also a reflection of our vision and direction as we continue to develop the brand.

Cinetruss is a mini truss system made in Vietnam, specifically designed for the filmmaking industry. Our goal is to give key grips and filmmakers more flexibility when building and adapting their rigs for different shooting requirements.

From simple setups to more customized configurations, Cinetruss can be integrated into a wide range of filmmaking applications, including:

  • Car Rigs
  • Dolly Rigs
  • Crane Rigs
  • Turntable Rigs
  • And other custom camera and grip setups

Designed for Filmmaking

Rather than defining Cinetruss around a single fixed load rating, we prefer to provide the key technical specifications and construction details that filmmakers and key grips can use to evaluate and design their own setups.

Every rig is different. The actual load and configuration depend on factors such as span, mounting points, direction of load, support structure, and how the truss is integrated into the overall system.

Here are the standard specifications of our 4″ Aluminium Truss:

4″ Aluminium Truss

  • Standard Material: 6061-T6 Aluminum
  • Standard Finish: Black Anodized
  • Recommended Hardware: M10 × 1.5 thread, 40 mm long, Class 10.9 bolts and M10 × 1.5 Class 10.9 nuts
  • Square Tube: 101.6 × 101.6 mm (4 × 4 in)
  • Wall Thickness: 6.3 mm
  • End Flanges: 12 mm thick, welded at both ends
  • Mounting Holes: Ø11 mm
  • Mounting Hole Spacing: 50.8 × 50.8 mm (2 × 2 in), evenly spaced
  • Through-Cutout Diameter: Accommodates tubes with an outer diameter of up to 48.4 mm

These specifications are intended to help professionals understand the system and determine how Cinetruss can be incorporated into their specific rigging applications.

Where Cinetruss Should Be Used

Cinetruss is developed specifically with filmmaking and camera rigging applications in mind.

For safety and proper system design, we do not recommend using Mini Cinetruss for heavy-duty applications such as:

  • Telehandler Frames
  • Platforms
  • Stunt Rigs
  • Greenbeds
  • Light Boxes
  • Ultimate Challenge setups
  • Or other applications with similar heavy structural or dynamic loading requirements

For these types of applications, a larger structural system specifically engineered for the required loads should be considered.

A Growing Accessories System

Cinetruss is developed in collaboration with Custom Easy, allowing us to provide a growing range of accessories and mounting solutions for filmmakers.

Our goal is not simply to provide truss sections, but to build a flexible ecosystem that can adapt to different camera and grip configurations.
